Provided you are talking about the hotspot feature on your phone, you can set it to whatever you want it to be.
On Android this would be:
Settings>
Portable Hotspot> *but click on the text not just where it says on/off*
Set up portable hotspot>
And enter the SSID/Password and other settings as you see fit!
**If you are talking about a standalone device, then which one would it be. These are usually setup using either an app or by using WPS to connect to them and then visiting a web page on the device.
